How to make time management work for you
Just take a second and think about it. Remember the day you completed everything you wanted. You exercised, read and got enough sleep. that is, she felt excited, happy and proud. You thought to yourself, how can I do this every day and why don't I do this every day!
Now think of a day when time ran out on you and there wasn't enough time to get everything done.
Why is time management important?
In addition to understanding and overcoming negative feelings of defeat due to poor time management, time management is crucial because it will help you meet your short, medium and long term goals.
Tips for being more proud with your time
use a planner – It may sound simple, and in essence it is, but there are a few key things to keep in mind. If you don't currently have a process, start with it and tweak what works for you.
However, if you have a calendar process that you follow for time management, look at what areas are frustrating you or you aren't sticking to each day.
Determine where your time is going
The first step is to write down what you do in a day/week in blocks. For example, do you work, go to school, have children, cook all your meals, read, how often do you work out or want to work out, what about hobbies? Start with those big topics, then get specific in each category.
Soon after, check how long it takes to perform these tasks. So, if you work full time, you know you have a 40-hour weekly block to work. If you own your own business, it can change from week to week, but look at an average.
Determine your most productive hours
What time of day do you think you can complete everything you want? Those are your most productive hours.
Maybe it's 9 to 12 on a Wednesday. Those productive hours are your precious time. Productive time is when you need to schedule something important to you that needs to be completed.
Productive time is super-concentrated time where you're not checking your phone or having someone over to distract you. This is the time you set aside for the week's most critical activities.
During your productive time, there are no interruptions, calls or distractions. Keep this in mind.
For example, I'm most productive in the morning before 7am.
Decide which Calendar/Planner or any other system you will use and use only one
This keeps the entire day and week in one place. You never have to worry about missing a meeting or deadline because you're switching between different software or tools.
Finally, always stay organized, as your productivity will increase in all sectors of your life.
